What is Project UP-START?

What We Do

Project UP-START is an initiative that assists our neediest students with school enrollment, transportation, free lunch, and case management. Additionally, through donations and support, resources for these students and their families are made available for new school uniforms, gift cards, and payment of senior events such as prom and Grad Bash.

In the 2025-2026 School Year, over 9,600 students in transition were helped through these programs.

What We Stand For

Project UP-START, under the Department of Title I Administration, is the Education Program for Children and Youth Living in Transition in Miami-Dade. The core of the program is to prevent children and youth in transition from being stigmatized, separated, segregated, or isolated. Learn more here.
