Annual Funding Priorities

THIS IS WHAT WE FUND

STEAM/STEM LABS: The Foundation raises funds to open STEAM/STEM labs in K-12 schools to inspire students through hands-on exploration and learning in science, technology engineering, arts and math.

MINI-GRANTS FOR SCHOOLS: The Foundation awards nine grants (three in each region) per year to schools for the implementation of innovative and effective educational activities that foster greater academic achievement.

SUMMER YOUTH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: The Foundation plays a vital role in providing paid, summer internships to high school students across Miami-Dade County. Through partnerships with local organizations and generous sponsors, the program prepares students for life with real-world work experience and hands-on learning outside of the classroom.

PROJECT UP-START: A vital initiative that supports Miami-Dade County’s students and youth living in unstable housing. Donations to the Foundation to support Project UP-START help provide additional resources to these students and their families such as secondary education expenses, clothing, school supplies, gift cards, and paid senior class activities.

CULTURAL PASSPORT: Every year, the Foundation provides K-12 students with a grade-appropriate cultural experience at one of the many cultural institutes in Miami-Dade County.

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS: The Foundation awards various scholarships to graduating seniors from traditional M-DCPS high schools for post-secondary undergraduate education.

THE M-DCPS MARKETPLACE: The M-DCPS Marketplace is an essential community resource where students, their families, and local residents can access free food, clothing and supplies. The Marketplace is designed to combat food insecurity and unexpected hardships.
