A Record-Breaking Run for Our Schools

A Record-Breaking Run for Our Schools

Some moments deserve a pause. A moment to look around, take it all in, and simply say thank you. The EdFed Race for Education at the Superintendent’s 5K delivered exactly that kind of moment this year.

On Saturday, 6,307 runners, joggers, walkers, students, teachers, families, and community supporters came together in support of our public schools. The energy was contagious from the first warm up stretch to the final finisher crossing the line. And the impact was real. Together, we raised over $125,000 for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Almost 300 schools participated, making this a record-breaking year for the race and for the community that shows up year after year to support education.

Every registration, every sponsorship, and every step taken on the course translates into direct support for our schools that make up the heart of Miami-Dade. What makes this race so special is not just the numbers, it’s the people behind them. Students running alongside their teachers,  Parents pushing strollers and Principals cheering for their school teams.

This race is more than fitness, it is filled with philanthropy, and school pride all rolled into one unforgettable morning. Thanks to our Title Sponsor, EdFed, and the many partners who believe in the mission of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Foundation, this event continues to grow in ways that directly benefit classrooms across our community.

When thousands of people show up for education, the message is clear. Our community believes in our students, our teachers, and the future we are building together,  thank you for making this year one for the record books.
