What is the Cultural Passport Program?
The Cultural Passport program connects Miami-Dade County Public Schools students in grades K-12 with the rich cultural life of South Florida. In partnership with the region’s premier arts and cultural organizations, this sequential program guarantees every child, regardless of background or circumstance, meaningful
access to the arts.
This past school year, that commitment translated into real impact: 42,225 students across 240 schools and 545 classes visited 22 cultural venues, attended 100 performances, and traveled on 1,081 buses to get there. For many of these young people, these experiences open doors that might otherwise never open, and for South
 Florida’s cultural community, they help cultivate the next generation of lifelong patrons, artists, and contributors.
All Cultural Passport events are free for students, teachers, and schools.
CULTURAL PASSPORT EXPERIENCES
INNOVATIVE PROGRAM
Cultural experiences are far more meaningful when students see a strong link between the field experience and the instruction they are receiving in class. Through the cultural field experience and interdisciplinary classroom instruction, students make meaningful connections between the arts and non-arts disciplines while further developing literacy skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and improving their overall academic performance in all classes.
